Is the forthcomming elections a new opportunity for american people?

According to some statistics 46 mills. of American civilians (15% of population) have absolutely no social security. Another 23 mills. pay some money for the minimum social security, which is practically nothing at all, as far as severe cases is concerned. Also 28 mills of American people eat through coupons. I wonder, is this the American dream? What is the different thing that the two candidates for the White House will promise to secure the votes of the above citizens? And if they do so, will the hold on their promises ? We shall see soon enough. I believe that in the case of big abstinence (more than 30%) this means that the Americans don’t trust anybody at the moment. And of course that there is a huge demand for a change, even a reformation at any level.

G. Brown holds on quite good.

In the midst of global financial crisis G. Brown seems to holds on his seat. Mrs. Brown is also gaining points on recent polls against the conservative party. Moreover the conservative leader, Mrs. Cameron supports his efforts for the solution of the problem in Britain. When a 43% of British voters supports this efforts too, it is quite clear that the socialists are rather the winners at present time, if not something else. At the same poll the conservatives are gaining only a pale 33% . On the other hand, the leader of the conservatives is the most lovable political figure with 53% against a small 28% for the prime minister. Who will prevail ? It seems that a thriller is going to take place during the next months.

D. Cameron seems to be the unchallenged leader of the conservative party of England. And he strove to prove it during the conservative convention last week. He seeks to unite every wing of his party and to create a powerful team which will triumph during next elections. People say that he is wise enough to understand the mistakes of the past and to find solution for the future problems. He favors the center and sometimes he glances at the lefties powers. He said that he wants to reform the society as M. Thatcher reformed the economy at the past. He said that he has plans to do this and of course various solutions. Time will prove his intentions.

GREECE favors Obama.

According to a recent poll (published from the newspaper “KATHIMERINI”, P. 12) conducted in Greece during the first week of September, senator Obama enjoys the approval and support of Greek voters with the enormous and unprecedented 82%. Even the leftish voters favor him with over 60%, while socialists seems to believe at him with all their hart (92%). On the other hand Greeks show skepticism about the USA – Greek relations. With an average of 56% they express an obvious doubt for both candidates as far as the policy their “Greek policy” they are going to formate if elected. All in all it seems that for the very first time Greeks are shown some interest for the American elections.

CHINA : Towards a new era to space.

The Chinese Shenzhou 7 space – shuttle was sent to earth orbit during the last week. Without doubt China is the new and considerably strong player as far as space is concerned. The aim is obvious : to become partner next to other powers, USA, EU and Russia.

Shenzhou 7 is the pride of Chinese nation and it seems that this is only the begging. I think that during the next years world will testify more Chinese activity in space. It seems that this territory soon will become more or less quite crowded. Don’t you think?
